The Cards and Moose Jaw Miller Express were involved in a tight ball game through six innings on Friday July 20 as the Millers led 2-1. However in the seventh the wheels fell off as the Millers rallied for seven runs to take a 9-3 victory.
Logan MacDougall received his first start on the mound for the Cards and did not disappoint as he gave up just two earned runs with zero walks to give the Cards a great chance to win. Unfortunately the Millers seven run rally in the seventh to gave them a lead the Cards could not come back from. Ryan Thrasher threw two shutout innings to finish off.
Offensively Dillon Champagne led the way with a single and his team leading fourth home run of the season. Ryne Niemi also had a pair of hits including a two rbi double.
Catcher Matt Zanutto threw out three base stealers to highlight the team defence on the evening
The Cards next action is a double header Saturday July 21 in Melville starting at 6:05 PM
