Thursday July 26 was a home double header versus the Regina Red Sox. Game one was a pitching clinic between the Cardinals Parker Hubbard and the Red Sox’ Brian Raymond as both allowed no runs after nine complete innings. Hubbard allowed only four hits and had four strikeouts on what was an absolute gem. Unfortunately for the Cardinals Raymond matched him pitch for pitch allowing eight hits with nine strikeouts. In the top of the tenth the Red Sox scored three runs off Matt Zanutto and held on for a 3-0 win. Zanutto took the loss.
The Cards had their opportunities as at one point they had bases loaded and none out only to ground into double play where the two lead runners were thrown out. Griffey Halle led the way with three hits. Jared McDonald, Ryne Niemi and Colin Kellington each had two hits
In game two the Cardinals took advantage of some shaky pitching and a few timely hits in the first inning to score eight runs in a 10-1 victory.
Andrew Cisneros had his second start of the year and threw a masterpiece as he went the complete game allowing just four hits and an unearned run to coast his way to the win.
Logan MacDougall led the way with three hits and three runs batted in. Jack Swisher and Colin Kellington had two hits, while Jared McDonald and Griffey Halle had one hit each. Halle also had three rbis.
